چکیده
Ulnar neuropathy in the region of the elbow is not uncommon, but its association with hypoplasia of the trochlea and the medial epicondyle of the humerus is extremely rare. Probably the earliest description of this association was that of Saito in 1927, but few details of the ulnar neuropathy were given in his report. In 1963 Abematsu, Miyashita and Aoki added three patients with a similar condition of which one had been operated on for ulnar neuropathy. They noted the variation in the course of the ulnar nerve at the elbow which was due to

Elbow dislocation with bicondylar humeral fracture in an adult: a unique type of injury
Simultaneous fracture of lateral condyle and medial epicondyle of humerus along with elbow dislocation is very rare injury in adults. Only a few cases have been reported in literature in pediatric age groups. The authors describe a case report of fracture of lateral condyle and medial epicondyle of humerus along with elbow dislocation in a young adult. The patient sustained injury in the form o...
متن کاملDeformity after internal fixation of fracture separation of the medial epicondyle of the humerus.
We reviewed 24 displaced fractures through the physis of the medial epicondyle of the distal humerus. One was a Salter-Harris type-II fracture-separation of the whole distal humeral epiphysis; the others involved only the medial epicondylar centre of ossification. Two cases had presented as pseudarthroses. One fracture had been treated closed in a plaster slab and 21 had had open reduction and ...
متن کاملPaediatric medial epicondyle fracture without elbow dislocation associated with intra-articular ulnar nerve entrapment
Elbow fractures are not uncommon in children, and some are associated with neurovascular injuries. Having a nerve injury in an elbow fracture without dislocation is rare and was not described in the literature. Here, we have reported probably the first case of an ulnar nerve injury in an elbow fracture without dislocation. A 9-year-old female presented to the emergency department after falling ...
متن کاملIntra-articular Entrapment of Medial Epicondyle Fracture Fragment in Elbow Joint Dislocation Causing Ulnar Neuropraxia: A Case Report
Traumatic elbow dislocations in children are rare but most of them are complex dislocations, and in such dislocations, medial humerus epicondyle fractureis the most common associated injury. Fracture incarceration in the elbow joint occurs in 5-18% of medial humerus epicondyle fractures but ulnar neuropraxia is very rare. Open reduction internal fixation is indicated in medial humerus epicondyl...
متن کاملBilateral Additional Slips of Triceps Brachii Forming Osseo-Musculo-Fibrous Tunnels for Ulnar Nerves
Rare additional slips of triceps brachii muscle was found bilaterally in a sixty two year old South Indian male cadaver during routine dissection of upper limb for undergraduate students at Melaka-Manipal Medical College, Manipal University, Manipal, India. On left side, the variant additional muscle slip took origin from the lower part of the medial intermuscular septum about 4 cm proximal to ...
